Canada ready to allocate up to $22 million for Ukraine's ammunition

According to defense sources, the Canadian government may contribute up to $22 million to the plan proposed by Czech President Petr Pavel at the opening of the Munich Security Conference.

The Czech government has stated that they have managed to obtain up to 800,000 standard NATO-caliber shells, as well as shells of other calibers from undisclosed countries not part of NATO. It is noted that financial support is needed for the delivery of ammunition to Ukraine.

Canadian Defense Minister Bill Blair has stated that discussions with the Czechs are ongoing, but he does not disclose details. "I've entered into the memorandum of understanding with one of our European allies, the Czech Republic, with respect to perhaps acquiring munitions that they currently have in their possession that will enable us to ... make them available more rapidly to Ukraine as we ramp up our own production," Blair said Monday after announcing that Canada will contribute hundreds of drones to the Ukrainian military.
