Granting Ukraine candidate status on June 23 confirms our commitment to go side by side to your full membership in the European Union. It may not be an easy road, but the European Parliament, your strongest advocate, is ready to help you every step of the way", she said.

According to her, the European Parliament is ready to provide expertise and advice for the work of the Verkhovna Rada.

"On behalf of the European Parliament, I assure you that we will direct all available resources, energy, as well as technology to help the Verkhovna Rada. A strong parliament is crucial for the stability of any democracy", she said. 

Roberta Metsola recalled the promise she made in April to help rebuild Ukraine. According to her, this is an opportunity to improve the state and transform it.

"The Solidarity Trust Fund of Ukraine together with the Recovery Platform of Ukraine and the Recovery Plan of Ukraine is our master plan. But we also know that Ukraine needs resources that come from different sources - from international financial institutions, as well as from the private sector and from frozen assets. You must be sure that the European Union will continue to seek all means to achieve this", she added.
