We want lasting peace, Russia should not be able to repeat aggressive scenario – Blinken

At the Munich Security Conference, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken has noted that today the issue of strategic peace is at stake for every country in the world, the struggle against the rule of force is underway, and evil must be defeated so that it does not spread further

He said this during the Munich Security Conference broadcast by Espreso TV.

"The main decision must be made by Ukraine, that is, Ukrainians must decide what to do and when to do it. First, we must not lose sight of and not shift the focus from the fact that there is an aggressor and there is a victim. The world should not expect Ukraine to make concessions that Russia should be making now. If Russia decided to end the fighting today, it would be the end of the war. And if Ukraine decided to stop fighting, it would be the end of Ukraine. We have a lot at stake, not just Ukraine, but the issue of strategic peace for every country in the world is at stake. We are fighting today against the rule of force, and if we fail to win, we will open Pandora's box and such evil will spread further. We want a lasting peace, and this means that we must do everything to prevent Russia from repeating such an aggressive scenario next year or in 2 to 3 years," the US Secretary of State said.

Antony Blinken added that Ukraine needs assistance to strengthen its defense capabilities to be able to defend. It is also necessary to look to the post-war future, where there is security for Ukraine and for the whole of Europe.
