“We see optimism in military-diplomatic work”: Lieutenant General Romanenko on US and EU assistance

Military and diplomatic work to prepare for the de-occupation of Ukraine by the EU and the US is improving

Lieutenant General Ihor Romanenko, the founder of the Let's Close the Skies of Ukraine charity foundation, told Espreso TV channel.

"Today we see optimism in the military and diplomatic work of our allies. It is about the fulfillment of our strategic task of defense operation at the moment," he said.

Europeans and Americans understand the importance of the consequences of this war for both Ukraine's security system and their countries, Romanenko said.

"If Ukraine fails, the consequences will be catastrophic, everyone understands this. Our allies are slowly moving forward and take into account that now it is necessary to critically assess the situation, reformat and focus on providing high-quality and fast assistance," he said.

According to him, this was not enough for the company this year on the part of Ukraine's partners. It was necessary to quickly deliver at least what was planned. However, this process is now underway.

"In the US race, Biden needs achievements, which means much better results on the frontline. In addition, the EU is waking up, with the British and Germans leading the way, although Macron is also supporting in his own way," said the lieutenant general.

We must stop Russia from advancing even at the tactical level, destroy as many weapons, equipment, and manpower as possible. Ukrainians must win time in a comprehensive wide range of supplies of modern weapons and equipment to conduct de-occupation counter-offensive operations next year, he summarized.
