We know what Lukashenko is thinking: Podolyak estimates likelihood of Belarusian offensive
The adviser to the head of the President's Office believes that even Lukashenko understood that this war is a negative for him: in a historical, tactical, and strategic sense.
Mykhailo Podolyak announced this on the air of the All-Ukrainian telethon.
"Today, we absolutely clearly understand what is going on in Mr. Lukashenko's head, from the point of view of his responsibility to both Mr. Putin and to his people - these are different levels. We understand absolutely clearly that in Belarus, unlike Russia, completely different social mood, no one there supports the war as such. That is, if in Russia without these visa restrictions, 80% support the war, because they do not pay any price for it, then in Belarus no more than 10-15% support the war, no more," - said the adviser to the head of the OPU.
According to Podoliak, Belarus has more information about what is actually happening in Ukraine.
"We understand that the Belarusian army is completely demoralized, that is, it is in the form in which it is today. They have more information about what is happening in Ukraine. After all, they do not live in such an information space as the Russians, there are no such restrictions," the official said.
He believes that strategic actions on the part of Belarus could be expected only in the first weeks of the beginning of the war. "Today, even Lukashenko understood that this 190-day war is extremely negative for him in a historical sense, and in a tactical and strategic sense. This is a war that will bring only negatives, including Mr. Lukashenko, there is no none of the benefits he would have hoped for at the start."
Podoliak predicts that although Belarus provides its infrastructure and airspace for bombing Ukraine, it can be expected that it will not go any further. "Although, unfortunately, Belarus is participating in the war, giving its infrastructure and its airspace for bombing Ukrainian land, it will not go any further," he emphasized.
