"We are ready": Russia's Foreign Ministry says war with NATO is possible
Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said that he does not rule out an armed conflict between Russia and NATO, but believes that his country is ready for it
This was reported by the Russian newspaper Izvestia.
According to Ryabkov, a possible escalation of the conflict between Russia and NATO countries depends entirely on the actions of the Alliance.
"It depends on the North Atlantic Alliance. The choice is entirely on the side of NATO. We are ready, as we have already demonstrated, to defend our national interests by all means at our disposal," he said.
The Russian official added that it is allegedly impossible to "endlessly encroach" on Russia's interests, as this is a "dangerous path."
"People who continue to test us for strength must have believed that there are no limits to their own gambling, to the game of raising stakes. But they may end up among the losers," the Russian Deputy Foreign Minister said.
- A two-day meeting of NATO foreign ministers dedicated to Russia's war against Ukraine and the situation in the Middle East began in Brussels on November 28, during which the Alliance will reaffirm its long-term support for Ukraine.
