“We are not going to discuss aspects of the taste of human meat with cannibals” - Mykyta Poturayev on negotiations with Russia
On the air of the Spotlight Ukraine program, the head of the Ukrainian delegation to the OSCE, Mykyta Poturayev, shared in which case Ukraine is ready to negotiate with the aggressor and whether Russia's participation in the organization was suspended
This is reported on Spotlight Ukraine | Espreso TV Channel.
During the meeting of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly in Poland, the head of the Ukrainian delegation asked his colleagues to suspend Russia's participation in the organization for its brutal war against Ukraine.
“I am asking you to support this very principal decision for the future of this organization and to change the rules and procedures so that we as an organization for security and cooperation can show that we can protect security and fight for cooperation,” Mykyta Poturayev said.
However, the membership of the aggressor country was not suspended in the OSCE PA, and representatives of some countries expressed the need for dialogue between the Ukrainian and Russian sides.
“As members of the Ukrainian delegation, we are not going to discuss aspects of the taste of human meat with cannibals. They (countries that favor dialogue - ed.) don't even understand how immoral it is to meet with people who repeatedly said that all Ukrainians should be killed. Therefore, the Ukrainian delegation is not going to debate or discuss anything with the Russian side,” Mykyta Poturayev said.
The member of the Ukrainian parliament emphasized that wars do not always end with negotiations, and talks with Russia can only be in one case.
“Not all wars end with negotiations. Major part of the war ended in capitulations. Negotiations on the terms of Russia's capitulation may indeed take place, and Ukraine is ready to participate in them. But we are not going to discuss anything else with the Russians,” he concluded.
