Wagner fighters move to Belarus’ west, Poland says
The Wagner PMC mercenaries are moving towards the Suwalki corridor, which connects the country with the Baltic states and separates the Kaliningrad region and Belarus
Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said this, Reuters reports.
Morawiecki said that Poland has been facing constant attacks on its border for the past two years. This year alone, 16,000 attempts to illegally cross the border were recorded by migrants lured by dictators Vladimir Putin and Alexander Lukashenko to push them to Poland.
"The situation is getting increasingly dangerous ...We have information that more than 100 mercenaries from the Wagner Group have moved towards the Suwalki corridor near Grodno in Belarus," Morawiecki said at a press conference in Gliwice, western Poland.
According to the head of the Polish government, this is definitely a step towards a further hybrid attack on Polish territory.
Most likely they (the Wagner personnel) will be disguised as the Belarusian border guard and help illegal migrants get to the Polish territory (and) destabilise Poland," he said.
Morawiecki added that they are also likely to try to enter Polish territory posing as illegal immigrants, and this creates additional risks.

Earlier, Ukraine’s National Resistance Centre reported that about a hundred mercenaries from the Russian Wagner Group had arrived in Grodno to prepare for provocations on the border with Poland and Lithuania. Most of the mercenaries who arrived have experience in smuggling activities, including smuggling illegal migrants.
