"Vovchansk is home": Ukrainian border guards show how they "sweep" invading Russian forces from the city

Ukrainian border guards show on video Vovchansk, in the Kharkiv region, liberated from the Russian army.

The State Border Service of Ukraine reports on Facebook.

"Vovchansk is at home. The border guards have removed the remnants of unnecessary Russian things. Glory to Ukraine!", the message says.

On September 12, the Special Forces Regiment "Azov" announced the liberation of Vovchansk and the clearing of the northeastern Kharkiv region from the Russian military.

Recently, the Russian military declared Vovchansk the "capital" of the temporarily occupied territory of Kharkiv region instead of Kupyansk. Collaborator Yevhen Yevtushenko informed about the escape of the Russians there.

The city is located in the north of the Kharkiv region, very close to the state border of Ukraine with Russia. Namely, in the forest-steppe zone on the banks of the Vovcha river, which after 6 km flows into the Siverskyi Donets river.

In addition, Vovchansk has been under the occupation of Russian troops since the beginning of the Russian full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
