DW shared the news.
According to Ursula, the gas supply from the Russian Federation will be stopped sooner or later.
"Currently, Russia only partially supplies gas or does not supply it at all to 12 EU member states. Therefore, Europe must be prepared for the worst option - a complete stoppage of gas supply," von der Leyen said.
She added that the EU will intend to reduce the consumption of Russian gas by 15% by March 2023, and by 2027 to completely abandon it. For this, the EU is going to invest 300 billion euros in gas saving projects and the transition to renewable energy sources.
"At the same time, we are entering into new agreements with more reliable partners such as the United States and Norway," von der Leyen stated.
