Russian gunfire survivor performs Ukrainian national anthem before Ukraine's football match with Italy
A volunteer who was treated by doctors in Lviv after being seriously injured performed the Ukrainian national anthem before the national team's match with Italy on November 20
Lviv City Council reported this.
Yesterday in Leverkusen, Germany, the Ukrainian national team competed with the Italian national team for the 2024 European Football Championship. Before the match, the anthem of Ukraine was performed by opera singer Serhiy Ivanchuk from Poltava, who was treated at the Lviv First Medical Unit after being seriously injured.
It is known that on March 10 last year, Serhiy came under fire when he was evacuating civilians from the hot spots. The man received five bullet wounds to the liver, both legs, fingers and lungs. His condition was critical, but he miraculously survived. After stabilization in Kharkiv intensive care, Serhiy was taken by evacuation train to Lviv, where he underwent further treatment.
He is currently undergoing rehabilitation in Germany, where, along with stabilizing his health, he holds charity events and concerts. So it was he who was invited to sing the National Anthem of Ukraine before an important match for Ukrainian footballers.
