Zelenskyy thanked the Dutch Prime Minister for his National Flag Day greetings and the Netherlands’ support since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion.

The president emphasized that Russia shows no intentions for peace, so pressure is needed to change its position and a “highest level meeting to discuss all issues” is necessary.

In his conversation with Schoof, Zelenskyy also discussed potential security guarantees for Ukraine.

“At present, the teams of Ukraine, the United States, and European partners are working on their architecture. All the developments will be ready in the coming days. We also spoke about how the Netherlands can increase its involvement in this process and help ensure security guarantees,” he said.

Zelenskyy also mentioned discussing joint projects and investments in Ukrainian defense production with the Dutch Prime Minister, announcing “important agreements and a meeting in the near future.”

  • On August 22, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte announced that two layers of security guarantees are being developed for Ukraine, aimed at both strengthening the Ukrainian Armed Forces and securing support from the U.S. and Europe.
