He said this at a briefing on March 25, UNIAN reports.
Zelenskyy noted that he had discussed the future of the Zaporizhzhia NPP with US President Donald Trump.
“No one will give electricity to the Russians. They were counting on Zaporizhzhia NPP to supply them with electricity. No, this is our plant. It will not work without us and will not work for them,” the president said.
According to him, the restoration of ZNPP requires significant resources and may take two and a half years.
The President noted that the IAEA and Ukrainian experts confirm the need for repairs.
“Trump asked if we could work together on this issue. I answered: yes, if you invest in modernization. Yes, if you help us return the station,” Zelenskyy said.
- Earlier, US Presidential Special Representative for the Middle East Steve Witkoff said that during the talks with Russian representatives, the issues of Zaporizhzhia NPP and access to ports were discussed.
