Putin won't stop energy strikes while failing on battlefield — expert
Expert Olha Kosharna believes that talk of an "energy truce" is exaggerated and will not happen. At the same time, Russia may use the upcoming frosts as an opportunity for attacks
She said this in a comment to Espreso.
"The Russians will take advantage of the upcoming frosts, there will be large-scale attacks. Their forces cannot achieve their objectives on the front, so they have decided to fight against the civilian population in the rear and exert psychological pressure on them, which is why I don't believe this," Kosharna said.
She emphasized that the so-called "energy truce" is not beneficial for the Russian dictator.
"The fact that our delegation discussed this somewhere in Abu Dhabi behind closed doors — it's all an imitation of negotiations. It's not in Putin's interest to stop strikes on our rear, he believes he's in a strong position, Putin's goal is to pressure us into making the concessions he wants," the energy expert stressed.
- On January 29, the Kremlin refused to comment on the topic of an alleged "energy truce" between Russia and Ukraine, which so-called Russian military bloggers had started writing about.
