Victorious news on 631st day of war: ammunition depot burns down in Russia, Ukrainian Bober drones cause damage to Russia
Russians complain about shelling in several regions, and Ukrainian Bober drones caused almost a billion dollars in damage to Russian forces
Ammunition depot burns down in Russia
At night, a warehouse with small arms ammunition burned down on the territory of a military unit in the Volgograd region of the Russian Federation. The probable cause of the fire is a drone attack
The ASTRA telegram channel writes about this, citing its own sources.
"According to sources, on November 16 at 1 am, a drone attacked the territory of the military unit and exploded. This military unit, according to open data, is a large arsenal of complex ammunition storage," the message says.
As a result of the explosion, a fire broke out on the territory of warehouse 59, where small arms ammunition is stored. 630 people were evacuated, including 379 military personnel, 251 civilian employees and 3 children. There were no casualties.
Ukraine launches mass production of domestic analogs of Shahed drones
Ukraine’s Minister of Strategic Industries, Oleksandr Kamyshin, said that Ukraine has launched mass production of domestic analogs of Shaheds and is producing dozens of them every month.
"Starting with what is called the 'Ukrainian Shahed,' we don't name this product, but we have launched mass production of it and now produce dozens of them a month, and continuing with many other items that we used to produce very little of, and now we have decent numbers," he said.
According to Kamyshin, the defense industry is currently making a significant contribution to the country's economic growth and should become its main sector in the future.
Ukrainian Bober drones cause almost $1 billion in losses to Russia
The Defense Intelligence of Ukraine and the Come Back Alive Foundation have disclosed the contents of the secret Black Box, for which Ukrainians raised UAH 230 million last year. Among the components of the "box" is the Ukrainian barrage munition Bober. The foundation published the "unpacking" on X, opened by a Defense Intelligence’s special forces officer with the call sign Kolibri.
"The Black Box contains, among other things, the Ukrainian barrage munition Bober, which is designed to cover up to 800 km. And this is just one of the components of the 'box'," he says.
This barrage munition is capable of destroying important enemy military targets at operational, tactical and strategic depths at a distance of up to 800 km.
"Thanks to this and other means from the Black Box, we have been reducing the enemy's offensive potential," Kolibri says.
The foundation said that in the first 8 months of 2023, the "box" caused over $900 million in damage to Russian forces.
“The Bober UAV successfully carried out missions in Crimea, the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine, and infiltrated military facilities on enemy territory. The Black Box, for instance, targeted an electronics manufacturing plant responsible for producing Kh-31, Kh-35, and Kh-59 missiles launched from tactical aircraft,” the statement said.
In addition, the Bober UAV also hit a storage facility where missile parts for Iskander ballistic missile systems were stored.
Attacks on Russia’s Bryansk, Kursk regions and occupied Crimea
The Russian Ministry of Defense accused Ukraine of allegedly attacking the Bryansk region and the temporarily occupied Crimea. Also, some villages in the Kursk region have no power due to shelling.
"On the night of November 16, the Kyiv regime's attempts to commit terrorist attacks using aircraft-type UAVs against targets in the Russian Federation were stopped," the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement.
It noted that Russian air defense allegedly destroyed two UAVs over the territory of the Bryansk region, and three more were intercepted over the Black Sea off the coast of the temporarily occupied Crimea.
