Ukraine's Defense Intelligence reported this incident.

"On October 1, 2023, the production process of various modifications of Kh-59 missiles was disrupted due to an attack on the Smolensk Aviation Plant."

According to reliable intelligence information, three out of four drones successfully hit their target, causing significant damage to the military facility.

The Kh-59 missile, particularly in its Kh-59MK2 modification, falls under the "air-to-surface" class and has a range of up to 280 km. Russian Aerospace Forces frequently deploy these missiles in attacks on both military and civilian targets in Ukraine. The regions most affected by such attacks include Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson.

Italy and Ukraine have signed an agreement to jointly restore the Transfiguration Cathedral in Odesa, which was destroyed during the Russian attack on July 23

Italy's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Antonio Tajani said this before the meeting of EU foreign ministers in Kyiv, Ukrinform reports.

"Today Italy signed an agreement on the restoration of Odesa Cathedral. Italy will work on the reconstruction," he said.

Tajani noted that the best Italian architects will be involved in the restoration of the cathedral. According to him, this is a clear cultural and political message for Ukraine.

The minister added that Italy wants to support Ukraine and protect international law.

For the first time in Ukraine, a corruption whistleblower will be paid a reward of more than UAH 13 million

On Monday, October 2, the panel of judges of the High Anti-Corruption Court (HACC) ruled for the first time to pay a reward to a corruption whistleblower – he will be paid UAH 13 million 299 thousand 950.

This was reported by the HACC press service.

The whistleblower is Yevhen Shevchenko. In 2020, he reported an attempt to bribe heads of anti-corruption agencies for USD 6 million.

Shevchenko reported the bribe on Facebook.

"Given that the crime was exposed three years ago and the exchange rate has significantly depreciated over this time, I should end up getting not USD 500,000 but 'only' USD 350,000 (UAH 13.3 million), which, of course, is also very good," Shevchenko wrote.

Ukrainian partisans in Crimea sneak into the Russian airfield

The Atesh guerrilla movement showed in its Telegram how the Russian forces in the occupied Crimea near Simferopol guard the Hvardiyske air base.

"Our agents have been monitoring the airfield for more than a month. We record that the occupiers are preparing new fortifications near the airfield in Hvardiyske," the statement says. 

The movement added that, in particular, seven launchers of S-300 anti-aircraft missile systems, fortified long-term firing points and an administrative building of a military unit were discovered.

Ukraine's SkyUp cleared to fly in Canada

SkyUp Airlines has received a certificate enabling the Ukrainian carrier to operate charter flights and provide ACMI services in Canadian airspace

The FAOC certificate allows the company to provide ACMI services ("wet leasing") and operate charter flights from other countries to Canada.

It is reported that as part of the certification, the carrier also received a charter permit and a CBSA carrier code from the Canada Border Services Agency.

Drone Army hit a record number of Russian artillery

This was announced by Ukraine's Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov.

"The Russians have minus 69 guns and 17 self-propelled artillery systems. More destroyed artillery means fewer shells at the positions of our military and frontline cities. In total, drone operators hit 220 units of enemy equipment, including 33 tanks, 41 trucks and a bunch of other equipment," the statement says. 

Poland handed over a batch of repaired Leopard 2s to Ukraine

On October 2, the Ukrainian army received the first Leopard tanks repaired at the Bumar-Labędy Mechanical Plant in Poland

"While others are making declarations about the future, we are acting in consultation with the Ukrainian side. The Ukrainian side has received the first Leopard tanks, specially refurbished at Bumar-Labędy, and work on the next tanks is ongoing," the statement says. 

Ukrainian Armed Forces aviation launched 11 strikes on Russian military positions 

Ukrainian Defense Forces continue offensive operations in the Melitopol sector, offensive (assault) operations in the Bakhmut sector, inflicting losses in manpower and equipment on the occupation forces, and exhausting the enemy along the entire front line.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces' General Staff reported this. 

Over the day, Ukrainian aviation launched 11 strikes on the Russian troops' military positions and a strike on the enemy's anti-aircraft missile system.
