Victorious news of 534th day of war: intelligence hints at more Moscow attacks, Ukraine’s army advances on Tavria front

Ukraine terminates agreement with Russia on railway operation

On August 11, the agreement between Ukraine and Russia on the coordination of railway transport was terminated.

This was announced by the Permanent Representative of the Cabinet of Ministers in the Verkhovna Rada Taras Melnychuk.

"The Agreement between the Government of Ukraine and the Council of Ministers - the Government of the Russian Federation on the coordination of railway transport activities, signed on May 14, 1993 in Moscow, has been terminated," he wrote.

Ukraine’s intelligence hints at more attacks on Moscow

Moscow residents should expect more drone attacks. As the air defence of the Russian capital is not able to protect its citizens in the face of the ongoing escalation of the war.

This was stated by Andriy Yusov, a representative of Ukrainian military intelligence, in an interview with the Kyiv Post.

Yusov added that the number of daily attacks on Russian cities may increase.

"Given the dynamics of recent months, the number, geography and intensity, it is logical to assume an increase in the number of daily attacks," he said.

At the same time, Yusov noted that there is "some justice" in Ukraine's retaliation.

"As a result of Putin's criminal and genocidal war against Ukraine, Ukrainians are deprived of the opportunity to use air transport, planes and our airports are not working or have been destroyed. Today, Russians may experience something similar," he stressed.

Ukrainian Armed Forces are successfully advancing in the Tavria sector

This was reported by the commander of the Tavria operational and strategic group of troops Oleksandr Tarnavskyi.

Over the last day, enemy losses in killed, wounded and prisoners of war amounted to 257 people (49 killed and 208 wounded).

Ukraine targeted 16 units of Russian military equipment.

In particular, 4 armoured personnel carriers, 3 artillery systems and mortars, 1 MLRS, 1 UAV, 5 vehicles and 2 special vehicles were destroyed.

Five ammunition depots were also destroyed.

Nearly 1,000 Ukrainian marines complete training in the UK

Around 1,000 Ukrainian marines have completed a six-month training course in the UK: the skills they have acquired include amphibious operations on small boats and beach raids.

The announcement was made on the British government's website.

This is the first amphibious training programme that the UK is conducting for Ukraine. British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak announced it back in February, during Volodymyr Zelenskyy's visit to London.

Ukrainian forces target Russia's Strela air defence system

Over the day, Ukrainian aviation struck an area where Russian personnel, weapons and military equipment were concentrated. In addition, Ukrainian defenders targeted four reconnaissance drones of the operational and tactical level. Missile and artillery units also hit a Russian Strela (Arrow) surface-to-air missile system.
