A monument to Soviet General Vatutin was dismantled in Kyiv

On Thursday, February 9, the monument to Soviet General Nikolai Vatutin, which was located in Mariinsky Park, was dismantled in central Kyiv. The monument to Vatutin, along with the monument to pilot Valery Chkalov, which was demolished yesterday, will be moved to the Aviation Museum.

Yermak announces possible supply of fighter jets to Ukraine

The head of the Ukrainian President's Office, Andriy Yermak, announced good news: he claimed that the issue of delivering long-range weapons and fighter jets to Ukraine had already been resolved.

“The issue of long-range weapons and fighter jets has been resolved for Ukraine,” he wrote.

Later, Yermak edited his post as follows: “The issue of long-range weapons and fighter jets for Ukraine seems to be resolved. Details later. Hey, swamp (Russia - ed.), what's wrong with your face?”

Ukrainian Armed Forces shoot down enemy drone in the Kherson region

On February 9, 2023, at about 3 p.m., in the Kherson region, the forces and means of air defense of the Air Command South eliminated an enemy reconnaissance and strike Orion UAV. 

The Orion UAV is able to observe the terrain and find targets using standard optical equipment. Using guided missiles and air bombs, it can strike ground targets.

Lithuania will transfer 36 anti-aircraft guns to Ukraine

Ukraine will receive new anti-aircraft missile systems to destroy 'kamikaze' drones. This was stated by Lithuanian Defense Minister Arvydas Anušauskas during a joint briefing with Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov at the Ukraine-Odesa Media Center.

“During this visit, Minister of Defense of Ukraine Oleksii Reznikov and I discussed further assistance to the Ukrainian Armed Forces, including weapons and training for the military. Lithuania will continue to provide all possible assistance for Ukraine's victory. We are handing over 36 anti-aircraft guns that can successfully fight drones,” Arvydas Anušauskas emphasized.

Ukrainian aviation launched 15 strikes against the enemy

During this day, the aviation of the Ukrainian Defense Forces launched 13 strikes on the Russian troops' military positions and 2 strikes on the positions of anti-aircraft missile systems. The Ukrainian Armed Forces' General Staff reported this. 

Missile and artillery units hit 2 enemy control points, 2 areas of manpower concentration, a munitions depot and an enemy air defense position.
