The European Commission transferred EUR 66 million for the restoration of schools destroyed by the occupying Russian forces

This was reported by Katarina Mathernova, Deputy Director General of the General Directorate for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations.

“The European Commission has disbursed €66 million to the Ukrainian budget for the reconstruction and rehabilitation of schooling facilities that have been damaged in the course of the Russian brutal war against Ukraine,” she said in a Twitter post.

Ukraine's Armed Forces killed a Russian major

Ukrainian defenders liquidated a Russian major who fought in the Wagner PMC. This was reported by the Ukrainian Armed Forces officer, Anatolii Shtefan (aka Stirlitz).

“Major - reserve policeman Denis Linnik had a bad time in retirement. He signed up for the "Dembel" (Wagner) PMC and, as usual, was successfully demobilized,” Shtefan wrote. 

The Netherlands plans to provide Ukraine with EUR 2.5 billion in aid

This was reported by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. He noted that he had a conversation with the Prime Minister of the Netherlands, Mark Rutte. During it, the president thanked him for the decision to allocate EUR 2.5 billion in aid to Ukraine.

“We appreciate the support of the Netherlands! And we continue to work together to strengthen defense capabilities, energy stability, and restore critical infrastructure,” the president's message says. 

Ukrainian Yevhen Maloletka became the photographer of the year

He was a member of the Associated Press team and the author of the most vivid photos about the war in Ukraine.

For 20 days, the photographer with the Associated Press team captured Russia's crimes. After Mariupol, Yevhen continued to work in hot spots: Kharkiv, Izium, and Kherson.

Ukrainian aviation launched 7 strikes on the Russian forces' manpower and equipment

During the day, the Ukrainian aviation launched 7 strikes on areas where the enemy's personnel, weapons and military equipment were concentrated. This was reported by the Ukrainian Armed Forces' General Staff.

Units of missile troops and artillery hit 2 Russian control points, 2 munitions depots and 11 military positions. Information on enemy losses is being determined.
