US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken writes about this on Twitter.
The State Secretary said that the transfer of documents for safekeeping is Washington's last step in the process of expanding the bloc to two northern states.
"Today I deposited the U.S. Instruments of Ratification with the Depositary for the North Atlantic Treaty, as the last step in the U.S. ratification process for Finland and Sweden to join ," Blinken wrote.
From now on, the accession of countries to NATO must be ratified by all members of the alliance.
The American protocols were transferred to the depository of the North Atlantic Alliance, where the ratification documents received from other states are also stored.
