US imposes sanctions against suppliers of electronics for Iranian drones
On April 19, the United States imposed sanctions on companies that helped supply Iran with electronics for drones
The US Treasury Department reported this.
“The network sanctioned today has procured goods and technology for the Iranian government and its defense industry and UAV program,” said Under Secretary of the Treasury for Terrorism and Financial Intelligence Brian E. Nelson. “Treasury will continue to enforce its sanctions against Iran’s military procurement efforts that contribute to regional insecurity and global instability.”
The US Treasury Department's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) has identified one individual and six organizations in a sanctions evasion network that facilitated Iran's procurement of electronic components for its military programs, including those used in unmanned aerial vehicles.
Using numerous shell companies, Iranian national Mehdi Khoshghadam, director of PASNA, sought electronic components from foreign suppliers, mostly from China.
In addition, it concerns shell companies in Hong Kong and Malaysia. As a result of today's actions, all property owned by individuals and legal entities located in the United States or owned or controlled by US persons must be blocked.
