US Department of Defense addresses depleted uranium ammunition supply to Ukraine

The US Department of Defense expressed confidence that Ukrainian troops would use depleted uranium munitions responsibly, i.e. to liberate their territory

This was stated by Pentagon spokeswoman Sabrina Singh, CNN reports.

Depleted uranium ammunition can be fired from American Abrams tanks, which are to arrive in Ukraine this fall. They can pierce armor plates because depleted uranium ammunition is almost 70% denser than lead.

"We have absolute confidence that the Ukrainians will use them responsibly as they fight to take back their sovereign territory," Singh said.
