Minister Çavuşoğlu said that the US offered to send S-400 systems to Ukraine, which were previously purchased from Russia, but were refused. According to the minister, this is a matter of Turkey's independence.
"The US made a proposal that directly affects our sovereignty, for example, to transfer control over the installations. Where is our independence, our sovereignty?" he commented.

Çavuşoğlu said that Turkey supports President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's "peace formula" and hopes that the war between Ukraine and Russia will be ended at the negotiating table.
