The Ministry for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine shared the information.
It noted that the Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories, Iryna Vereshchuk, held a working meeting with UNICEF Deputy Executive Director Ted Chaiban.
"We discussed the priorities for cooperation in 2024. One of them is to support communities near the areas of hostilities. Especially children and their families," the statement said.
Ted Chaiban said his organization is ready to help restore the territories, respond to humanitarian needs, promote children's access to education, etc. At the same time, Iryna Vereshchuk suggested that in 2024 Ukraine’s Ministry of Reintegration, the Ministry of Education and UNICEF continue cooperation to provide laptops to children who cannot study offline.
According to her, other important tasks include arranging school shelters, restoring water supply, and supporting resilience centers. In particular, in the Kharkiv region, UNICEF is helping to implement projects to create six such centers.
"In total, UNICEF plans to allocate $450 million next year to support the frontline regions," the statement says.
