UN: Mission to Olenivka colony where Ukrainian prisoners of war died is still possible
Denise Brown, United Nations Resident Coordinator in Ukraine, believes that the UN representatives will still be able to visit the colony in Olenivka, where Ukrainian prisoners of war were killed.

"We never got permission from the Russian Federation to go there. Does that mean the end of discussion? No. Think of the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant. Specialists from the IAEA managed to get there. So it's possible," Brown said.

On August 23, 2022, the UN created a fact-checking group for the tragedy in Olenivka, but disbanded it in early January 2023 because the mission never managed to get to the crime scene.

On July 29, 2022, the Russians fired artillery at the prison in Olenivka, where they kept Ukrainian prisoners of war. Almost 40 people died as a result of the shelling.
