Ukrainians pay from €500 to several thousand to escape from Russian-occupied territories - volunteer Holovnya
It is very difficult to leave the occupation without a Russian passport, the routes go through the occupied Crimea, Russia, and then the Baltic States or Georgia
Roman Holovnya, head of the Kherson Hub humanitarian project, told Espreso.
"There is a realistic route to leave through Crimea, and then you can go through the Baltic countries. You can also go through Georgia. This route has been used since last summer. The cost ranges from 500 euros to several thousand. There are regular bus lines," he said.
Holovnya added that it is extremely difficult to leave.
"Those who have a Russian passport can do it, but for those who are under some kind of suspicion or on some lists, it is difficult. Since last summer, the FSB has significantly intensified checks at the entrance to Crimea - there are large databases, sophisticated equipment that checks everything. Unfortunately, many people are stuck there, under such conditions of constant pressure, and continue to exist under the yoke of the occupiers," the volunteer summarized
