Ukrainians deported to Russia are being relocated to Siberia and beyond the Arctic Circle - The Independent
According to Kremlin documents, Russian President Vladimir Putin sent nearly 100K Ukrainian refugees thousands of miles from their homes to relocate them to remote parts of Russia, including Siberia and the Arctic Circle.

Last month, Moscow issued an order to relocate 95,739 residents of Ukraine to Russia from combat zones to relocate 9K km from home.
Decree stated that "taking into account the current situation in Ukraine", Russian Federation "agreed to distribute" citizens to "constituent entities of Russian Federation" and asked authorities to "ensure reception of 95,739 people."
Document calls for 11,398 people to be sent to Siberia, 7,218 to Far East and 7,023 to North Caucasus, including other regions such as militarized republics of Chechnya, Ingushetia and Dagestan.
According to some documents, statement added that people in the port city of Mariupol had been asked to sign documents alleging that Ukrainian troops had shelled their city. It’s reported that signatories were told that they couldn’t return to Ukraine because they were facing "persecution."
