Ukrainian troops will soon start moving to reach Sea of Azov coast - military expert Svitan
Military expert Roman Svitan says that after reaching the Sea of Azov, the Ukrainian army will cut off the corridor to Crimea and take the Russian forces into operational encirclement
He said this on Espreso TV.
“The Zaporizhzhia front now has a width of 250-270 km and a depth of about 100 km to the coast of the Sea of Azov. The density of Russian troops in this area is probably the lowest among all other areas of the front, so they feel very insecure. Those Ukrainian reserves that were transferred from the right to the left bank of the Dnipro River are also strengthening the Zaporizhzhia front, where there are three promising directions for the future attack of Ukrainian troops: from Orikhiv to Tokmak and Melitopol, from Huliaipole to Polohy and Berdiansk, from Vuhledar to Volnovakha and beyond to Mariupol,” the reserve colonel of the Ukrainian Armed Forces commented.
Roman Svitan added that the Russians understand the priority of these directions, therefore they feel the instability of the situation, and desertion has already begun in the Russian army.
“The frosts have started now, so I believe that in the near future the Ukrainian troops will begin to carry out the task of crossing the Russian land corridor to Crimea and reaching the coast of the Sea of Azov. After reaching the Sea of Azov, the Ukrainian army will cut off the Russian corridor to Crimea and take the Crimean group of the enemy into operational encirclement. The enemy will have the only means of support - the Crimean bridge, but due to repeated strikes on it, the Russian group will be surrounded. Therefore, the best option is to go to the Azov coast and then clear it from the Russians, because in a week or a half the enemy will run out of army supplies, so it will be possible to confidently clear a part of the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions from the Russian forces, and then enter the Crimea through Melitopol. There are three overland corridors there: Arabat Spit, Chonhar, and Perekop. We are already getting HIMARS to Armiansk, that is, it is a matter of the coming weeks. The most promising direction is from Huliaipole to Polohy, it is from Polohy that the departure of Russian troops to Mariupol is currently being observed,” Svitan explained.
