Ukrainian soldiers repel Russian forces' attacks in 8 settlements

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports in its morning report from October 3 on Facebook.

Russia continues to focus its efforts on attempts to fully occupy the Donetsk region and hold the captured territories, as well as disrupting the active actions of the Ukrainian Defense Forces in certain areas.

"Russians shell the positions of Ukrainian troops along the contact line, conducting aerial reconnaissance. They strike civilian infrastructure and the homes of the civilian population, violating the norms of international humanitarian law, the laws and customs of war," the message says.

There remains the threat of Russians launching air and missile strikes on the entire territory of Ukraine. Russian occupying forces have launched 11 missile and 10 air strikes, conducted more than 65 shellings from rocket-propelled grenades in the last 24 hours.

Russians affected more than 35 settlements were affected by missile strikes. Among them are Ridkodub, Slovyansk, Kramatorsk, Bilogorivka, Bakhmut, Netaylovye, Vodyane, Maryinka, Vremivka, Kryvyi Rih, Zaporizhzhia, Zaliznychne, and Mykolaiv.

On the Volyn and Poliske directions, the situation remains without significant changes.  In other directions, the Russian invading forces shelled from tanks and artillery of various types:

in the Seversky direction - in Ukrainske of the Chernihiv region and Basivka, Pisarivka, and Kiyanitsa of the Sumy region; 

in the Kramatorsk direction - in Novosadove, Terny, Yampil, Siversk, Verkhnokamianske, and Spirnena; 

in the Bakhmut direction - in Fedorivka, Rozdolivka, Vesele, Bilogorivka, Yakovlivka, Soledar, Bakhmutske, Bakhmut, Odradivka, Zaytseve, Toretsk, Mayorsk, Nelipivka and Yuryivkana;

in the Avdiivka direction - Avdiivka, Pervomaiske, Vodiane, Karlivka, Krasnohorivka, Maryinka and Novomykhailivka.

In the Novopavlivskyi and Zaporizhzhia directions, Russians shelled the settlements Vremivka, Velika Novosilka, Neskuchne, Novoukrainka, Prechistivka, Vugledar, Pavlivka, Mykilske, Rivnopillia, Olgivske, Zaliznychne, and Mala Tokmachka with mortars, tanks, and rocket artillery.

Also Russians shelled more than 45 settlements along the contact line in the South Bug direction.

Units of the Defense Forces of Ukraine repelled enemy attacks in Zaitseve, Bakhmutske, Bakhmut, Odradivka, Vyimka, Spirne, Nevelske and Pervomaiske settlements in the last 24 hours.

 "The aviation of the Ukrainian Defense Forces launched seven strikes. Russian control post, five places of concentration of weapons and military equipment, as well as the enemy's anti-aircraft missile system were hit. In addition, Ukrainian Air Defense units shot down one Ka-52 helicopter, one Su attack aircraft -25 and eight unmanned aerial vehicles in the last 24 hours," the message says.

Ukrainian missile forces and artillery, in particular, hit two Russian command posts, fourteen areas of concentration of manpower, weapons and military equipment, three warehouses with ammunition and fuel, as well as eight other important Russian facilities in the last 24 hours.
