Ukrainian soldiers repel 102 Russian attacks, Russia is bringing convicts, including women, to Donetsk region - AFU General Staff

Over March 12, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have repelled more than 100 Russian attacks. At the same time, Russia is transporting convicts, including women, to Donetsk region

The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces shared the information in its usual report. 

Suffering losses in the war, Russia is using alternative sources of manpower. Last week, a train with reserved seats for the transportation of convicts was spotted moving toward the Donetsk region. One of the cars was transporting female convicts.

Russian troops launch 3 missile and 8 air strikes against Ukraine during the day, targeting civilian infrastructure 

Russia continues to use terror tactics, conducts indiscriminate shelling of populated areas, thereby grossly violating the norms of International Humanitarian Law.

Over the past day, Russian troops launched 3 missile attacks, including on the civilian infrastructure of Sloviansk, Donetsk region, as well as 8 air strikes and 49 MLRS attacks.

The level of missile threat remains high throughout Ukraine.

There are no significant changes on the northern and northeastern border with Belarus and Russia. Russian troops are near Ukraine’s state border, but there are no offensive groups. They continues to equip positions in the border areas of the Belgorod region. During the day, Russian soldiers shelled 1 settlement in the Sumy region and 5 more in the Kharkiv region.

In Kupiansk and Lyman directions, Russian forces are trying to break through the Ukrainian defense. They launched a futile offensive near 7 settlements. They also shelled with artillery near 7 settlements in the Kharkiv region, 5 in the Luhansk region and 2 more in the Donetsk region.

In the Bakhmut direction, the Russian army continues to try to capture Bakhmut. Ukrainian troops repelled attacks near 4 settlements. Meanwhile, Russian troops shelled 11 settlements in the Donetsk region.

In Avdiivka, Marinka and Vuhledar directions, Russian troops launched futile offensives near 7 more settlements. Areas near the contact line came under Russian fire, including 12 settlements in the Donetsk region.

In Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions, Russian troops are on the defensive. Areas near the contact line came under Russian fire, including 8 settlements in the Zaporizhzhia region, 4 in the Kherson region, and 2 more in the Mykolaiv region.

Russian forces take training equipment from ZNPP training center

Russian troops continue to loot the temporarily occupied territories. In the city of Enerhodar, they began to remove equipment from the training center of the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant, which was used to improve the skills of employees.

Ukrainian Armed Forces strike Russian control center and personnel concentrations

The Russian army does not abandon its intentions to occupy Ukraine. Despite significant losses, they continue launching offensives in Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka, Marinka and Vuhledar directions. Over the past day, the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 102 Russian attacks in these areas.

During the day, Ukrainian aviation attacked an anti-aircraft missile system of the Russian army, and launched 6 strikes on Russian personnel and military equipment concentrations.

Ukrainian missile and artillery units struck a Russian control center, 2 concentrations of personnel and military equipment, as well as 2 ammunition depots, and a fuel and lubricant depot.
