Ukrainian serviceman spends 12 hours in open sea before being rescued

The Ukrainian military has conducted a rescue operation using a UAV to help the soldier after 12 hours in the open sea

Espreso reported this on Twitter.

"Under the fire of enemy aircraft, our boat was forced to retreat to return with reinforcements to search for our comrade. At that time, a UAV flew out to search for our fellow serviceman," the Ukrainian military said.

After several hours of searching, thanks to information about the heat signature of a person from the Bayraktar TB2 UAV, the Ukrainian soldier was found. From that moment on, the drone followed him almost continuously.

"The boats of our units tried to break through to the serviceman being under the heavy fire of Russian fighter jets, which one after another took off in the area of the search and rescue operation and tried to prevent it. Eventually, our guys managed to break through," the tweet says.

The soldier was successfully evacuated. He spent over 12 hours in the open sea and survived, knowing that his fellow soldiers would definitely return for him.
