"For our pilots, the place of detention was changed several times, in the end they were taken to the pre-trial detention center in the city of Kursk, where they were in a cell with eight more Ukrainian officers", the intelligence officers write.
Ivan Pepelyashko says that, despite serious injuries in the pre-trial detention center, most Ukrainians do not receive basic medical care: "The guys are holding on, but most of the wounds have begun to fester. They asked Russians to give at least bandages and brilliant green, to take care of the most injured. But in vain".
The pilots also said that grueling interrogations were constantly going on in the detention facilities. Oleksiy Chyzh recalls that each interrogation traditionally began with Putin’s propaganda about the fact that Ukraine was invented by Lenin: "They forced us to record propaganda videos. If we refused, they threatened that they would stop bandaging the wounds of our comrades. They said that they would cut off the inflamed parts piece by piece. They mentioned our families and the danger they face".
However, Russian officers, even during interrogations, admitted that their "blitz-krieg" had failed and they had not been able to achieve their goals.
"They are really zombified! They ask if there are many Nazis in Ukraine", says Ivan Pepelyashko. "They repeat that they want to liberate Ukraine from the Nazis. That we will soon live in one country again, and Galicia will be taken away by Poland. They are just crazy".
Upon returning from captivity, the pilots were met by the head of the GUR MO Kyrylo Budanov.
Now Ivan Pepelyashko and Oleksiy Chyzh are safe. They are in the hospital and receive all the necessary medical care.
