Ukrainian refugees make up 3% of Estonia's population
Since February 27, Estonia has received 40,047 war refugees from Ukraine. This figure doesn't include people moving through the country in transit.

The total number of Ukrainian refugees that Estonia accepted is about 3% of its population, which on January 1 was 1,331,796 people according to the Estonian Statistical Office. The state has also already registered 25,969 applications for temporary protection.
On May 25, 386 Ukrainian refugees arrived in Estonia, including 78 children, according to the Police and Border Guard Department. 267 plan to move to another country.
For comparison, as of May 25, Latvia has officially accepted about 30,000 Ukrainian refugees, according to the Latvian public broadcaster LSM. This is about 1.6% of the Latvian population, which, according to the Central Bureau of Statistics, as of January 1 was 1,893,223 people.
