Ukrainian POW exchange took place simultaneously in four countries - Ukrainian intelligence
The September 21 Ukrainian POW exchange operation took place simultaneously in four countries: Ukraine, Turkey, Poland and Saudi Arabia.
The Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine informs about this in a telegram.
"In general, this is another stage of the operation, which we have been conducting on a permanent basis, unfortunately, since the moment when prisoners of war began to appear. At this stage, this is the largest exchange that has been carried out during this time of the war. In general, this exchange took place on the territory of several countries - this is the territory of Ukraine, the border between Ukraine and Russia, a stage on the territory of the Republic of Poland, an operation on the territory of the Republic of Turkey, an operation on the territory of Saudi Arabia," said the head of military intelligence of Ukraine, Major General Kyrylo Budanov.
Among the 215 released prisoners are 124 officers, 89 soldiers and sergeants. Of them, 188 were defenders of Azovstal and 8 were wounded as a result of the terrorist attack in Olenivka.
Also, 10 foreigners were released - two citizens of the USA, 5 citizens of Great Britain, one from Sweden, one from Croatia and another from Morocco.
46 prisoners were under the so-called investigation of the Russian Federation.
"These exchanges will continue in the future. We will return absolutely all our citizens, no one will be left behind," Budanov added.
