Ukrainian polar explorers show Antarctica in pink colours
Near Ukrainian Antarctic Akademik Vernadsky station in the Southern Ocean, polar explorers took unusual photos of nature in pink shades
This was reported by the National Antarctic Science Centre.
"We continue our "Colours of Antarctica" series, because the icy continent is not as monochrome as some people used to think. Its palette is very diverse. And today we will show pink or Barbie colour, which is very popular now," the statement said.
According to the polar explorers, pink is present in the Antarctic - it is the colour of sunrises and sunsets in good weather, when the sky is not overcast.
"As the colours of the sky are reflected in the ocean, the whole world becomes infinitely pink," the Ukrainian polar explorers wrote.
The photo was taken by Serhiy Hlotov, a biologist of the 28th Ukrainian Antarctic Expedition.
