Ukrainian parliament must call Russia's crimes in Ukraine as genocide during a large-scale invasion. Deputies registered the  resolution, - Knyazhytsky

Members of parliament have prepared a draft resolution on recognizing the criminal actions of  Russian Federation, which have been going on in Ukraine since February 24, 2022, as genocide of Ukrainian nation.

This was announced by Mykola Kniazhytskyi, an MP from EU parliamentary faction.

 

"Together with Volodymyr Vyatrovych, at the request of residents of Mariupol and Bucha, we prepared a resolution of Verkhovna Rada on genocide. This is important for the future tribunal. We thank all the deputies who supported our resolution with their signatures," politician said.

 

Draft of that resolution provides: "to call all criminal actions of Russian Federation, which have been going on in Ukraine since February 24, 2022, as genocide of Ukrainian nation."

 

Document also states that the law enforcement agencies of Ukraine should take comprehensive measures to ensure the investigation of the crime of genocide and bring the perpetrators to justice through the mechanisms of national and international justice.

 

In addition, this document is addressed ti foreign states and international organizations to facilitate the investigation of crimes of  Russian Federation, its armed forces and repressive in Ukraine, to ensure the inevitability of punishment of organizers and perpetrators of these crimes, to provide Ukraine with all necessary weapons and other assistance. Toughest sanctions against Russia in order to stop the aggression against Ukraine, deoccupy the entire territory of Ukraine, stop genocide of Ukrainian nation and prevent its recurrence in the future.

 

Authors of  resolution note: "Pursuant to the provisions of the UN Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of Crime of Genocide, having regard to United Nations General Assembly Resolution (A / ES-11 / L.1)" Aggression against Ukraine "of 2 March 2022 Noting that Russian Federation, as an aggressor state, is carrying out deliberate actions aimed destruction of Ukrainian nation - mass torture and killing of civilians, destruction of residential and public buildings in villages, life support infrastructure, deprivation access to food, water and medical care , any means of subsistence and the possibility of leaving zone of hostilities or the zone of occupation, targeted detentions and killings in the temporarily occupied territories of statesmen, educators and cultural workers, clergy, civic activists, forced deportations of civilians to Russia, including abduction and deportation of children, destruction of Ukrainian historical and cultural monuments, books, ban on history studies Ukraine and teaching in Ukrainian language, etc., condemning in principle any crimes of linguistic, ethnic, racial or religious intolerance, recalling that Russian Federation has declared successor state of USSR responsible for organizing genocide crimes in Ukraine - the Holodomor of 1932-33 and deportation of the Crimean Tatar people in 1944, recognizing that political regime of  Russian Federation is Nazi from nature, practice and ideologically imitating National Socialist totalitarian regime guilty of genocide crimes - Holocaust, noting that one of the current crimes that the crimes of communist regime of  USSR, unlike the crimes of Nazism, did not receive proper international legal assessment and punishment, given the appeal of  Mariupol City Council April 1, 2022, numerous testimonies of crimes of  Russian Federation, its armed forces and repressive in Bucha , Volnovaha, Irpin, Mariupol, Okhtyrka, Kharkiv, Chernihiv and many other places in Ukraine "
