Ukrainian parliament calls for sanctions against sports organizations representatives of Russia, Belarus
On Friday, July 14, the Ukrainian parliament called on the National Security and Defense Council to impose restrictions on representatives of sports organizations from Russia and Belarus
The corresponding draft resolution №9408 has been published on the website of the Verkhovna Rada.
Thus, the Rada insists on imposing personal special economic and other sanctions against representatives of sports organizations of the Russian Federation and Belarus. The sanctions include, in particular:

blocking assets;

restrictions on trading operations;

restriction, partial or complete cessation of transit of resources, flights and transportation through the territory of Ukraine;

preventing the withdrawal of capital from Ukraine and suspension of economic and financial obligations;

restriction or termination of electronic communication services and use of electronic communication networks;
-
termination of cultural exchanges, scientific cooperation, educational and sports contacts, and entertainment programs with foreign countries and foreign legal entities;
-
deprivation of state awards of Ukraine and other forms of recognition.
The restrictions are proposed to be applied for a period of up to 10 years.
The sanctions list includes:

Pavel Bure, former manager of the Russian national hockey team and member of the Hockey Hall of Fame;

Alexander Baraulya, Deputy Minister of Sports and Tourism of Belarus;
-
Founder and coach of the RUSVOLLEY volleyball association Ivan Kolesnik;
-
Minister of Youth Affairs, Physical Culture and Sports of the Omsk Region Dmitry Krikoryants;
-
Honorary Member of the International Olympic Committee, member of the Executive Committee of the Russian Olympic Committee Alexander Popov.
On July 13, it became known that the National Olympic Committees of Russia and Belarus would not receive invitations to the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
