Ukrainian National Guardsman hits 7 air targets with MANPADS, is awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine

Ukrainian National Guard’s fighter, known as "Zaporizhia avenger", has been awarded the title Hero of Ukraine

Oleksiy Nadtochiy, head of the operational department of the Main Administration of NSU, shared the news during a briefing to Media Center Ukraine.

"On July 16, a conscripted soldier of the National Guard of Ukraine shot down a cruise missile from a MANPADS system, and on July 17, a Su-25 aircraft. He has a total of seven Russian target hits - six aircraft and one cruise missile. This soldier is a Hero of Ukraine," said Oleksiy Nadtochy.

Most likely, we are talking about a 19-year-old serviceman with the callsign Bandit, who was previously mentioned by the Southern Operational Territorial Association of NSU. As of May, Bandit shot down three planes of the occupiers.

"I have shot down not "already" three planes, as they say, but "only" three planes and I will destroy them as long as it takes - until our victory!" - said the national guard at that time.
