Ukrainian forces report 23 combat encounters in one day 

This is stated in the morning report from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

"During the previous night, Russia conducted two missile strikes on the Donetsk and Dnipropetrovsk regions, utilizing Iskander missiles. One Iskander-K missile struck the outskirts of Dnipro, causing damage to a two-story residential building and resulting in over 20 civilians sustaining moderate to severe injuries, including children. Additionally, the enemy executed 30 airstrikes and launched 56 MLRS attacks on our troops' positions and civilian areas, as stated in the post.

Russia persists in concentrating its primary efforts on the complete occupation of the Luhansk and Donetsk regions. Throughout the past day, a total of 23 combat encounters occurred.

On the northern border with Belarus, the operational situation has not changed.

On the northeastern border with Russia, Russian troops maintain military presence in the areas bordering Ukraine. They launched an air strike near a settlement in the Kharkiv region.

• Furthermore, Russian forces launched mortar and artillery attacks, targeting a total of 27 settlements across the Chernihiv, Sumy, and Kharkiv regions.

In the Kupyansk direction, Russian troops launched an unsuccessful assault near Novoselivske in the Luhansk region over the past day.

• Six settlements across Kharkiv and Luhansk regions came under artillery and mortar fire. One settlement was subjected to an air strike. 

In the Lyman direction, Russian troops launched an unsuccessful assault near Bilohorivka in the Luhansk region and Spirne in the Donetsk region over the past day.

• They carried out air strikes near 2 settlements in Luhansk and Donetsk regions. Seven settlements across the regions came under artillery fire.

In the Bakhmut direction, Russian troops launched an unsuccessful assault near Ivaniske and Bila Hora.

• Russian troops launched air strikes near 2 settlements. 
• They also shelled 9 settlements in the Donetsk region with artillery.

In the Avdiivka direction, the Russian army launched air strikes near Avdiivka in the Donetsk region and shelled 4 settlements with artillery. 

In the Marinka direction, Russian forces launched an assault near the town of Marinka, but Ukrainian defenders repelled all 11 attacks.

• Russia suffered significant losses in manpower and equipment.
• Russian troops launched air strikes on 1 settlement and shelled 7 settlements in the Donetsk region with artillery.

In the Shakhtarsk direction, Russian troops launched air strikes near Prechystivka and Vuhledar, and shelled 3 settlements.

In Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions, Russian forces are on the defensive.

• They carried out air strikes near 2 settlements in the Zaporizhzhia region.
• Russian forces shelled 22 settlements across Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Mykolaiv, and Kherson regions.

Forty Russian soldiers desert in one day 

On June 2, it was reported that approximately 40 members of the Russian occupation forces deserted from their positions in Svatovo, Luhansk region. 

In response, Russian helicopters and a unit of the Russian Guard were deployed to search for the deserters.

Within the last day, the Ukrainian Armed Forces conducted 11 airstrikes on areas where enemy personnel were concentrated, as well as 6 airstrikes on enemy air defense systems 

Additionally, Ukrainian forces successfully neutralized 6 enemy reconnaissance UAVs and 2 attack UAVs of the Lancet type.

According to the report, missile units and artillery forces targeted the enemy's command post, an anti-aircraft missile complex, 6 artillery units in firing positions, and 3 enemy ammunition depots in the past 24 hours.

• On Saturday, June 3, there were 87 explosions in the Sumy region as a result of shelling from the Russian side.
