Ukrainian lawmakers call on the world to create special tribunal for Russia
The Verkhovna Rada (Ukraine's parliament) has adopted an appeal to international organizations and partners with a call to create a special tribunal for the Russian Federation.
This is reported by Espreso TV.
283 deputies voted for Resolution №8094 on Crimes of Aggression Against Ukraine.
"This will much sooner force the Russian Federation to abandon the continuation of armed aggression against Ukraine, as well as to use the provisions on universal jurisdiction, within the limits of its own criminal legislation, and to bring to justice persons guilty of committing the most serious international crimes on the territory of Ukraine," Oleksii Honcharenko wrote on Telegram.
Ukraine's Parliament appealed to the UN, the parliaments and governments of its members, the European Union, and the Council of Europe. Ukrainian lawmakers call for the creation of a special international tribunal that could try the highest political and military leadership of Russia for committing crimes of aggression against Ukraine.
