Ukrainian Ground Forces commander describes hottest frontline spots
Invading Russian troops are advancing and trying to break through Ukrainian forces' defense along the entire eastern frontline
The Ukrainian Ground Forces Commander, Colonel General Oleksandr Syrskyi, said this during a media briefing.
“Almost along the entire eastern frontline, the enemy is conducting offensive actions, trying to break through the defense of our troops and advance into the depths of their combat formations. The most fierce fighting continues in the Kreminna, Torske, Bilohorivka and Spirne areas. However, Bakhmut remains the epicenter of the fighting. Battle for the city continues,” he said.
According to Syrskyi, the Russian forces have deployed all their available capabilities. They are trying to break through the defense in several directions and completely surround the city.
“Fighting is taking place in the north, east and south of the city. Thanks to the courage of our soldiers, the enemy suffers huge losses and once again retreats without success. Unfortunately, we also suffer losses, but much less than our defenders inflict on the enemy. In some areas, our units have partial success,” Syrskyi added.
