He shared the information on Espreso TV.

"Regarding the defense of the Kupiansk region, the situation on the frontlines is not uniform. The first direction – the left-bank Kupiansk and Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi – is being stormed by the Russians using both infantry and highly maneuverable transport, armored vehicles, and combined attacks, but without success. The second direction – further downstream – where Russian troops managed to cut off a foothold to the settlement of Kruhlyakivka in 2024 and establish themselves to continue developing their success towards Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi. Currently, Russia’s actions are blocked in this section. In other words, we are managing to hold Russian invaders at the positions they currently occupy," noted Yuriy Fedorenko.

According to him, the Russian assault actions continue constantly on both left-bank Kupiansk and Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi. Last week, three Russian attacks involving armored vehicles were repelled. As for the Russian manpower, it is a constant flow of new reinforcements, which the Russian army uses as intensively as possible despite the losses it suffers.

"The third direction in the Kupiansk sector worth mentioning is the area of Dvorichna and Novomlynsk, where the situation is quite difficult. Russian forces occupy the right-bank foothold near the Oskil River and are trying to expand it to create the conditions for preparing the banks for engineering work and, in the future, establishing pontoon crossings. At the moment, the Ukrainian Defense Forces are taking measures to block Russia’s actions. The left bank of the Oskil River and its water body are under fire from the Defense Forces, which is preventing Russian occupiers from starting the work to establish pontoon crossings. Fighting continues," summarized Yuriy Fedorenko, commander of the 429th Separate Drone Systems Regiment Achilles.

  • The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported that on March 2, 109 combat clashes were recorded on the Russian-Ukrainian front. In the Kupiansk sector, three Russian attacks took place during the day. The Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled Russian assault actions near Zahryzove, Petropavlivka, and Lozova.
