Ukrainian forces shoot down Russian drone containing components produced in NATO country
Components of foreign companies have been found in the Russian UAV shot down near Bakhmut, Donetsk region.
Journalist Yurii Butusov wrote about this on Facebook.
“Russia continues to take electronics from NATO countries to arm its drones. Ukrainian soldiers shot down a Russian Orlan-type unmanned reconnaissance vehicle produced no earlier than August. When inspecting the wreckage, it became apparent that the Russians continue to use components produced in NATO countries,” he wrote.
The journalist showed in the photo a key element of the Russian Orlan drone - a four-element small-sized Comet-M adaptive antenna array, which allows the navigation system of the drone to work despite attempts to suppress it by EWs. This component was manufactured in the summer of this year, which indicates fresh deliveries, Butusov noted.
“This Comet uses components from American companies Altera/Intel, Taoglas and Taiwanese Cirocomm,” he emphasized.
Butusov called on NATO countries to monitor more carefully what and how it reaches the aggressor country.
