Ukrainian forces repel 18 Russian attacks near Avdiivka – General Staff

The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported the information.

Ukrainian aviation carried out 12 strikes on Russian concentration areas

Meanwhile, missile troops hit an area where personnel, weapons and military equipment were concentrated, 9 artillery pieces, an ammunition depot and an enemy radar station.

The Russian forces launched one missile and 36 air strikes during the day

They also fired more than 35 times from MLRS at the positions of Ukrainian troops and populated areas. Unfortunately, as a result of a missile attack by Russian terrorist troops on a gymnasium in the town of Nikopol, Dnipropetrovs'k region, there were killed and wounded among the civilians. Private houses and other civilian infrastructure were destroyed and damaged.

The operational situation in eastern and southern Ukraine remains difficult.

In the area of the northern Ukrainian border with Belarus, the operational situation has not changed. 

In the northeastern border area, Russian forces maintain a grouping of troops covering the state border, continue shelling populated areas from the territory of Russia, and increase the density of minefields along the state border of Ukraine.

Russian troops carried out air strikes near 5 settlement in the Chernihiv region; 6 in the Sumy region. About 20 settlements came under Russian artillery and mortar fire.

In the Kupyansk direction, Ukrainian troops repelled 16 enemy attacks near Synkivka and 5 attacks near Ivanivka in Kharkiv region.  Russian troops shelled over 15 settlements with artillery and mortars.

In the Lyman direction, Russian troops deployed aviation to strike at the positions of Ukrainian troops near Serebryanka forestry (southwest of Kreminna, Luhansk region). Also, one settlement in Luhansk and three settlement in Donetsk regions were subjected to air strikes. In addition, the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 5 attacks near Makiivka, Luhansk region. Over 10 settlements suffered from Russian artillery and mortar attacks.

In the Avdiivka direction, the occupying Russian army carried out over 10 air strikes in the area of Avdiivka. About 10 localities came under enemy artillery and mortar fire.

In the Bakhmut direction, Ukrainian forces repelled attacks near 5 settlements in the Donetsk region. Russian troops also launched air strikes. Over 15 settlements came under Russian artillery and mortar fire.

In the Marinka direction, Ukrainian Armed Forces successfully repelled 8 attacks over the last day. Russia launched an air strike near Novomykhailivka. About 10 settlements were under Russian fire.

In the Shakhtarsk direction, 10 settlements came under Russian artillery and mortar fire.

In the Zaporizhzhia direction, the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled attacks near one settlement in the Zaporizhzhia region. Russian troops launched an air strike near Novodanylivka, Zaporizhzhia region. About 25 settlements came under Russian artillery and mortar fire.

In the Kherson direction, the city of Kherson and 5 other settlements came under Russian artillery and mortar fire.

At the same time, the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue offensive operations in the Melitopol direction and offensive (assault) operations in the Bakhmut sector, inflicting losses in manpower and equipment on the Russian occupying forces, and depleting the enemy along the entire front line.
