Ukrainian forces repel 18 Russian attacks in Avdiivka over past day - General Staff

The Ukrainian Armed Forces’ General Staff reported this.

Frontline situation

The operational situation in eastern and southern Ukraine remains challenging. Within the last day, 52 battles took place. 

In the Avdiivka direction, more than 20 settlements in the Donetsk region were attacked.

In the Bakhmut direction, about 10 localities in the Donetsk region were attacked by the invading Russian forces.

In the Marinka direction, over 10 settlements in the Donetsk region came under shelling.

In the Shakhtarsk direction, over 10 localities in the Donetsk region were shelled.

In the Kupyansk direction, 10 settlements of the Kharkiv region came under artillery shelling.

At the same time, the Russian army continued shelling the entire borderline with mortars and artillery: over 20 settlements across the Chernihiv, Sumy, and Kharkiv regions were attacked.

In the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions, more than 15 towns and villages were subjected to numerous attacks by the occupying Russian army.

The Ukrainian defense forces continue to conduct offensive operations in the Melitopol sector and offensive (assault) operations in the Bakhmut sector, inflicting losses in manpower and equipment on the occupation forces, depleting the enemy along the entire front line. 

Ukrainian soldiers continue to hold their positions on the left bank of the Dnipro River in Kherson region. They continue to deliver fire damage to the enemy.

Near the state Ukrainian border with Russia and Belarus, the situation hasn't changed significantly, and no enemy offensive groups have been detected.

Russia carried out 38 air strikes and fired 32 MLRS attacks

The enemy carried out 38 air strikes and fired 32 times from multiple launch rocket systems at the positions of Ukrainian troops and civilian settlements. Unfortunately, Russian terrorist attacks have resulted in civilian casualties and injuries. Private houses and other civilian infrastructure were destroyed and damaged.

Ukrainian forces targeted 14 areas of enemy manpower deployment

Over the day, Ukrainian aviation carried out 11 strikes on the areas of concentration of enemy personnel, weapons and military equipment. 

The missile troops hit 3 areas of concentration of personnel, weapons and military equipment, a control center, an air defense system and 4 enemy artillery pieces.
