Despite the losses, occupying Russian forces are attacking at the Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Marinka directions. The fiercest fighting continues for Bakhmut and Marinka. Over the day, the Ukrainian defenders repelled more than 60 enemy attacks in these areas.
Near the state Ukrainian border with Russia and Belarus, the situation hasn't changed significantly, and no enemy offensive groups have been detected.
At the same time, the Russian Federation continued shelling the border areas: 7 settlements in the Sumy region, as well as 4 in the Kharkiv region were attacked.

In the Lyman direction, 3 settlements in the Donetsk region and 3 in the Luhansk region came under artillery fire.

In the Avdiivka direction, the invading Russian forces attacked more than 15 settlements in the Donetsk region.

In the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions, more than 11 towns and villages were subjected to numerous Russian attacks.
The Russian Ministry of Defense has delayed the start of officer training in certain higher military educational institutions from September 1 to December 1 due to significant losses.
The losses are a result of the daily casualties in the ongoing war against Ukraine. It has been noted that the number of personnel in the units that have undergone training has also decreased. This decline may be attributed to the regular deployment of small groups to the conflict areas to replenish the losses incurred by the combat units.
Additionally, an open letter from the Wagner PMC terrorist organization has surfaced in the information space, calling for volunteers to join its ranks. The organization's units suffered substantial losses during the offensive on Bakhmut.
