The Ukrainian Armed Forces' General Staff reported this. 

The Defense Forces' aviation launched 10 strikes on the invading Russian troops' military positions over the past day and 2 on the anti-aircraft missile systems.

During the day, the Russian forces launched 30 missile strikes, 48 airstrikes, about 32 attacks with multiple launch rocket systems at the Ukrainian troops' positions and populated areas. Unfortunately, the Russian terrorist attacks resulted in civilian casualties and injuries, as well as damage to residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure.

The likelihood of missile and air strikes across Ukraine remains high.

Frontline situation

Near the state Ukrainian border with Russia and Belarus, the situation hasn't changed significantly, and no enemy offensive groups have been detected. 

At the same time, the Russian army continued shelling the entire border line with mortars and artillery: over 30 settlements in the Chernihiv, Sumy, and Kharkiv regions were attacked. 

Russian attacks in other Ukrainian regions

In the Kupyansk direction, 10 settlements of the Kharkiv region came under artillery shelling. 

In the Lyman direction, 5 settlements in the Luhansk and Donetsk regions came under Russian fire. 

In the Bakhmut direction, over 10 localities in the Donetsk region were attacked by the invading Russian forces. 

In the Avdiivka direction, about 5 settlements in the Donetsk region were attacked. 

In the Maryinka direction, over 5 settlements in the Donetsk region came under shelling. 

In the Shakhtarsk direction, about 5 localities in the Donetsk region were shelled. 

In the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions, over 25 towns and villages were subjected to numerous attacks by the occupying Russian army.

At the same time, the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to conduct offensive operations in the Melitopol and Berdyansk sectors, consolidating their positions and conducting counter-battery operations.

  • On the morning of Sunday, August 6, Russian forces struck again in the Kharkiv region. A woman was killed and another man was wounded in the shelling of the village of Podoly.
