Ukrainian forces destroy 29 Russian tanks, 30 artillery systems, 810 soldiers - General Staff

The total Russian combat losses from February 24, 2022, to October 26, 2023, amounted to:

The Russian troops continue to try to surround Avdiivka, actively using air power

The Ukrainian Armed Forces' General Staff reported this on October 26.

Near the state Ukrainian border with Russia and Belarus, the situation hasn't changed significantly, and no enemy offensive groups have been detected. 

At the same time, the Russian army continued shelling the entire borderline with mortars and artillery: over 20 settlements across the Chernihiv, Sumy, and Kharkiv regions were attacked. 

Russian attacks in frontline Ukrainian regions

• In the Kupyansk direction, 10 settlements of the Kharkiv region came under artillery shelling. 

• In the Lyman direction, over 10 settlements in the Luhansk and Donetsk regions came under Russian fire. 

• In the Bakhmut direction, over 20 localities in the Donetsk region were attacked by the invading Russian forces. 

• In the Avdiivka direction, more than 10 settlements in the Donetsk region were attacked. 

• In the Marinka direction, over 10 settlements in the Donetsk region came under shelling. 

• In the Shakhtarsk direction, over 10 localities in the Donetsk region were shelled. 

• In the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions, about 25 towns and villages were subjected to numerous attacks by the occupying Russian army.

At the same time, the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to conduct an offensive operation in the Melitopol sector, inflicting losses in manpower and equipment on the occupation forces, and exhausting the enemy along the entire front line.

Russian army launched 50 airstrikes and about 49 MLRS attacks against Ukraine

Over the past day, 78 combat engagements took place.

In total, the Russian enemy launched 50 airstrikes and about 49 attacks with multiple launch rocket systems at the Ukrainian troops' positions and populated areas. Also, yesterday, the invading forces launched another airstrike using Shahed-136/131 attack UAVs. The Ukrainian Air Defense Forces destroyed all enemy Shaheds.

The falling wreckage of the UAV caused injuries among the civilian population. In the cities of Slavuta and Netishyn, Khmelnytskyi region, 11 apartment buildings, 9 private houses, 2 educational institutions, 2 fire and rescue units, and a police station were damaged.

In addition, an air strike with guided aerial bombs on a residential area of the city of Beryslav and villages in the Beryslav district, Kherson region, resulted in civilian casualties and injuries. Private residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure were destroyed and damaged.

Ukrainian Defense Forces destroyed 3 Russian munitions depots and an air defense radar station

Over the past day, the Ukrainian aviation launched 7 strikes on the invading Russian troops' military positions. 

Missile troops destroyed 3 munitions depots, 6 artillery pieces, as well as an enemy air defense radar station.

• The Institute for the Study of War said that the Russian military lost 109 to 200 pieces of equipment near Avdiivka between October 10 and 20.
