Ukrainian forces advance in Melitopol and Berdyansk sectors, fierce fighting reported in Robotyne area

"An offensive operation of the Ukrainian Defence Forces is currently underway at the Melitopol and Berdyansk directions. Ukrainian soldiers are confidently targeting the enemy and moving forward. Over the last day, more than 250 Russian soldiers were neutralized, both killed and wounded. Fierce fighting continues in the area of Robotyne. The enemy is constantly trying to counterattack, pulling up its reserves from other areas. The Russian enemy is engaging not only regular troops but also its special forces acting in small groups," said the colonel.

Serhiy Kuzmin said that for a long time Ukrainian Defense Forces have been securely protecting the Avdiivka and Marinka directions, confidently holding back the Russian army troops. The enemy does not abandon its intentions to capture Donetsk region within its administrative borders.

• On August 7, Ukrainian soldiers from the 47th brigade targeted a Russian helicopter in Zaporizhzhia region.

• On August 8, the commander of the Tavria operational and strategic grouping of troops, Oleksandr Tarnavskyi, said that Ukrainian forces were making progress and advancing in the Tavria sector.
