Gifted a trembita as an unusual souvenir by friends, it transformed into a deep passion. In his free time, Bohdan immerses himself in the world of the trembita, reading about it, watching YouTube videos, and practicing.

“At dawn, far from prying eyes, he fills the Donetsk region with the powerful sounds of this traditional instrument, as if these melodies are etched into the very DNA of his people,” the photographers’ post reads.

Back home, Bohdan's little daughter Nastya eagerly awaits his return. She gave him a toy dog charm that he proudly wears on his armor. Nastya has a matching toy at home, and together, they've made a special promise. When Bohdan returns, they will exchange these cherished toys, a symbol of their unbreakable bond.
In the midst of war, these images and the video serve as a poignant reminder of the human stories behind the headlines.
Note: Trembita is a traditional wooden horn used by Hutsuls, Ukrainian highlanders in western Ukraine.
